A little about me...

 

 

 

I'm here to help you make the most of your French life and time in France!

 

Before starting Ask Steffi, I tought at kindergarden and primary school in England, studied and worked with children in the US, ran training courses as well as my own businesses in South Africa.  In France, I teach French and English both as primary and secondary languages as well as helping newcomers with their lifestyles and challenges.

 

So you would think that when I arrived in France twelve years ago as a fully-fledged Frenchy with family and friends in the country, lots of travel experience and organizational skills, that everything would have been straight-forward... that's what I thought too! The first thing that hit me was the language; of course I spoke French but I'd not lived in France for over twenty years.  It came as a shock to me that I felt like a foreigner...

This is how and why I started teaching "real", as opposed to textbook French.  Most people have neither the time nor inclination to feel as if they're back at school.  Language learning is about communication, so this is what we do, right from the start; be it a one on one session or in our small groups.  It's all about the little everyday things that you can use straight away, thereby making your integration easier.  I will also assist or take care of all your administration needs.
