If you are French or from the following countries, reside in France and are in possession of a "Carte Vitale", you can have/need to get a CEAM (Carte Européenne d'Assurance Maladie), which covers all medical expenses while travelling in these countries:

Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland - No forms necessary - Cards mailed within 10 days - Call the CPAM if under the general regime - Call the RSI if an independent worker - All family members must have their own cards, including children. Europe... It works.
